"Breaking Amish," "Amish Mafia," "Amish: Out of Order," "Amish in the City," "Witness": What did one small, quiet group of religious orders do to deserve all this? Following up on an earlier, more general PBS film about the Amish, the writer and director Callie T. Wiser profiles seven people - young and old, male and female - who have left the community. There's a necessarily one-sided quality to "Shunned" since Amish in good standing don't do interviews. The film's subject is purportedly shunning, the censuring of disobedient or unruly members by the Amish orders, and some of the principals recount how they came to be cast out.
